Cycle the Americas documentary is in preproduction.
Radu Paltineanu is been dreaming and planning about cycling the Americas for the past two years. Having to cycle 24.000 km in 9 months, 5 days per week, 120 kilometres per day. This is a real challenge but when the challenge represents your dream, you do anything to accomplish it. Not contempt with “just” cycling the Americas. He will also attempt to summit the two highest volcanic peaks in North and South America, Orizaba peak (5638 m) in Mexico and Oyos del Salado (6893 m) in Chile.
Montreal-based filmmaker Ioan Roman will follow him in the key-points along the way. He will shoot a documentary of this epic 9 months trip across the wilderness of the Americas.
Starting on August 1st, Radu Paltineanu will be cycling from the northernmost point of North America, Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to the southernmost continental point of South America, Ushuaia in Argentina. Plenty of challenges await him on the way. Ranging from surviving in the wild regions of Alaska and Yukon and successfully avoiding any contact with the wild animals to safely bypassing the areas of Central and South America, most often riddled with poverty and controlled by drug cartels.
