THE STORY:
Conceptual Artist Kelly Vaagsland Wainwright had some vivid images in her head. In early 2009, she dove in, bringing on board 4 Cape Town photographers to help make these visions tangible and real:
"I asked Desmond Tutu to jump on a bed - & he did!...
I asked a fat lady to shower in a field wearing nothing but a shower cap & gumboots - & she did!"
The result is a series of photo shoots, with accomplished, local Cape Town photographers, Inge Prins, Charley Pollard, Antonia Steyn & Saul Wainwright. The PLAY JUMP EAT! team have shot over 30 of these images all over Cape Town, resulting in a series of limited edition prints, which they are now selling & willl donate a percentage of their profits to the Philani: Child Health & Nutirtion Project, suggested to us through the Archbishop Tutu, who is a patron of the organization.
