LARA deals with movement patterns performed by the animated protagonists of computer games around the beginning of the 21st century and in particular with the mistakes and errors that were made in those already quite advanced but not yet completely successful trials to virtually reconstruct organic movement.
The movie is an experiment to re-translate those movement qualities, glitches and uncanny face expressions back onto a real body without correcting or adjusting what the digital version lacks or augments to then place and present this material body again within the mechanics of digital realms.
The growing space in everyday life where digital and physical realities intersect and the linked question what physicalness this tangible/intangible hybrid-reality produces are central motives for this work.
