Imagine a region where whole populations—amounting to millions of souls—have no known witnesses for Christ… Entire cities where no one is making Him known.
Unengaged Muslim people groups live in different regions all over the world. But beyond being Muslim, each people group is truly quite different. Each region faces unique challenges, varying needs, and cultural differences.
In South Asia, this couldn’t be any closer to the truth.
Home to countries like India and Bangladesh with two of the highest populations of Muslim people in the world, you can find entire cities and towns where there are no known witnesses for Christ.
In this hot and humid region, people face some of the toughest living conditions in the world due to overpopulation and unreliable access to basic infrastructure like plumbing, sanitation, and electricity.
The lack of clean water alone causes enough problems when it comes to health issues. But when added to illiteracy problems and an oppressive ethnic caste system, you begin to feel trapped by the conditions. They lead us to believe that hope, for this ancient region, is a hopeless cause.
However in the midst of these difficulties, we are finding that God is indeed at work and unfolding His incredible plan for the people of this South Asia. His love for the Muslim peoples who live in this region is powerful and He is calling the church to join Him in His wonderful work. We are seeing the beginnings of what can only be described as a Spirit led disciple-making movement among the unengaged. As this movement continues to flourish and more Christ followers answer the call to “go”, we begin to see a hopeless place we once thought impervious to change, in fact, has a reason for hope in this world.
South Asia isn’t just a place to venture into the unknown. It’s a place to go and make him known. Find your frontier and join us in reaching the unengaged Muslim people groups of South Asia.
