Rich was a managing editor at WCBS the local television station in NY. Their crews covered the events at the World Trade Center as they unfolded, but back in the newsroom they had to decide which reports were reliable and which images could be shown in the community where the attacks took place. The newsroom was also able to put out calls for assistance.
