Under the wide-open skies of the prairies, Mistatim is a coming of age story about the truest of friendships.
While a simple wooden fence is all that separates Calvin on his ranch and Speck on her reservation, in many ways they are worlds apart. On his father's ranch, Calvin attempts to 'break' Mistatim the only horse no one else can tame in order to prove himself to his father. On the other side of the fence, Speck, who is also struggling to find her place in her family, discovers her uncanny ability to communicate with horses. Working together to rein in the wild horse, Calvin and Speck cross the divide of their own cultures to learn to communicate with each other, Mistatim, and their families.
