Having flown too close to the sun and presumably drowned in the ocean beneath, Icarus awakens in purgatory, greeted by a younger version of his father and a mysterious card game that may hold the key to his survival.
About The Film:
Icarus Beyond was created for Sparrow Film Project #12 (sparrowfilmproject.com). Groups were given three weeks to write, cast, film, edit, color correct and deliver projects. Assignments were all based off of classic myths, and groups were also asked to set their film in a specific time period, as well as make their film either a prequel, a sequel or a remake. Our specific goal was to create a sequel to the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus, and it had to be set in the year 1910.
The film premiered at the Sparrow Film Project #12 Gala at the Museum Of The Moving Image in Astoria, New York. The film won awards for Best Film, Best Director (Colby Moore), Best Costumes/Makeup (Niki Janowski), Best Actor (Jason Yorke), Best Editing (Colby Moore) and Best Sound Design (Colby Moore).
