It was a hot summer evening in June, and I made this sketch of a dark soundtrack the week before.
Then this big thunder storm was lurking over the horizon.
On radar websites I saw this one was going to be HUGE, and I had a feeling this was going to be like nothing I've ever seen before: the perfect dark atmosphere for the sound I was writing.
So I set up my time-lapse rig on the roof and shot throughout the night into the morning,
while the storm seemed to last forever. It was like hell on earth.
That’s what I set out to make the finished soundtrack feel like.

I was constantly swapping out battery packs.
And had to switch between a 4gb and 2gb SD card every 2 hours or so.
Probably one of the longest successful time-lapse captures I've done.
Perfect inspiration by mother nature in the middle of the creative process.
