Russell Norman is the founder of the Polpo group of restaurants in London. Inspired by the bacari of Venice, the back street bars that fuel the people of the beautiful Italian city, the original Polpo opened in 2009 in Beak Street, Soho, London. By a remarkable coincidence the site of the first Polpo was also once the London home and studio of the most famous Venetian artist of all time, Canaletto. There's even a blue plaque on the wall of the building to honour this wonderful piece of information.
Over three days in June 2015, Chris Floyd shot a film about Russell in Soho and Venice. Join him as he takes us through some of the places that inspired him to create this modern London landmark and we dare you to deny yourself a Polpo trademark Aperol Spritz as the soporific waters of an early summer's evening in Venice close the film.
