Even though towards the end of the film of Orson Welles' version of 'The Trial' Josef K kicks down a door, there is no door in the film - and the film contains many doors - that he passes through with such conviction (in both senses of the word) as the one where he states "I am not your son" and strides out of the church and the rule of the father towards his own death.
