This short documentary chronicles an educational project involving the 2004 international reading of George Orwell's novel, 1984. The event, referred to as The 1984 + 20 Project, is here documented. I am posting the film here in order that participants and other interested viewers (many, college and university writing instructors) may download and share the work with students and colleagues (educational purpose). I hope they like it.
note: This transformative remix is intended as a form of academic commentary, critique and inquiry. It was specifically commissioned as a conversation-inspiring work to be shared with a select, limited group of online academic readers in a non-commercial venue. The work adheres to Fair Use principles regarding, 1.) transformative use, 2.) intended use as comment and critique, 3.) proportionality, and 4.) non-commerciality. Thus, in terms of "balance" recommended by the Center for Social Media's Code of Best Practices for Online Video as well as section 107 of U.S. Copyright law, this transformative critical work is protected by Fair Use policies and affordances.
note: the film shows my DIY roots. it's my first effort, so please watch gently. also, if you watch in "full screen" with "scaling on," you may have a better experience.
