Ronin Motorworks approached us to help craft a brand film highlighting the painstaking manufacturing process for their limited production motorcycle. Unlike a typical custom motorcycle, the team at Ronin combines old world craftsmanship and modern manufacturing methods to create a production-grade motorcycle like no other. In their own words, the art of making is not a clean, perfect process. It’s a battle. It’s controlled chaos. 47 Ronin Motorcycles will be created and then production will cease. Nearly 6 years after it’s inception, the team at Ronin are now delivering the first bikes.
For the film, Ronin Motorworks wanted to keep the focus on the bike itself, staying away from interviews and voice-over. From the filmmaking perspective this made for an interesting and challenging constraint, as we worked to visually craft the story in a way that echoed their design process and sensibilities.
