Atai's Garden - הגן של עתי

The "guide" in the video is Mr. Atai Yoffe, who established this garden where he lives, in an Israeli Kibbutz. He started it when he was 15 years old (now he is 74 y.o.) and since then he keeps it alone with no help or any external budget. The special thing about it is that all 700 plant species are wild plants grown in Israel, some of them very rare and some do not exist in nature any more (extinct). The same with the water creatures. The garden is thus natural with no irrigation or fertilization etc.

זהו סרט טבע מלווה במוסיקה יפה על גן צמחי ארץ ישראל אותו הקים עתי יפה לפני למעלה מחמישים שנה בקיבוץ נתיב הל״ה. בגן כ-700 מינים של צמחי בר, חלקם נדירים מאוד, וכן בריכות מים ושלוליות חורף עם צמחי מים ויצורי מים נדירים. עתי מטפח את הגן בכוחות עצמו.

הסרט עוקב אחר חילופי העונות, הפריחה ובעלי החיים במשך כל עונות השנה וכן מציג את תולדותיו של הגן ושל עתי עצמו. הסרט אורך 52 דקות וכדאי להתמיד בצפייה ולא להפסיד את חלקיו המרתקים ביותר בחורף ובאביב.
