This is my 5d mark II Audio setup for shooting a full feature film in low light condition (full night in a parking spot) without any light add ons. We will use only the refractions of the main street lamps with polystyrene.
We will shoot it from the 13 of august and it is called "Dies Irae - The wrath's day".
Basically, the audio rig had to be usable by the same person using the camera (so no boom pole), preserve the ability to get a good audio result in post production, and be energetically independent for at least 10 hours.
Having 3 actors, I wanted every actor to be recorded on a single track using the lavalier and the 4 track field recorder R44.
This way I can work easily in post production to choose what i prefer.
Then I got a short shotgun to get some ambient surround. This will be recorded on another single track.
By Mixing everything together I create a very "real" sound, that is basically editable in any way you want.
It is composed by:
Edirol R-44 4 track filed recorder
3x Sennheiser Ew 100 G3 lavalier
1x Sanken Cs1 short shotgun
And the energy:
1x Tekkeon 3750 MyPower All Lithium Battery for the field recorder
20x Li-hi 2850 Mha Ansmann rechargeable AA batteries
1 16 Energy Charger by Ansmann.
Eveything last about 10 hours of shooting, is rechargeable in one night, and weight less than 2 chilos.
I will soon post some test I did with the Audio & Video rig to show the result with post production mixing.
If you have any comments, please post!
