Curator Anna Douglas discusses the exhibition Shirley Baker: Women and Children; and Loitering Men (17 Jul-20 Sep 2015), the first London exhibition to present work by the pioneering British photographer.
The exhibition offers an original and fresh interpretation of Shirley Baker (1932-2014) and her practice through archival and previously unseen works, as well as ephemera, contact sheets, sketches and a newly commissioned soundscape by composer Derek Nisbet.
