Is there an age limit to having fun? No. Is there an age limit to making music? No. So why not combine the two? Owenss fortysomethings, older guys but young-at-heart thought exactly that. A four-piece band with a keen liking for melodic pop rock and laid-back tunes have been playing music for years, amongst each other, now taking the stage. Just like that. Owen does not jump on the hipster-wagon or regard itself as the new flavour of the day. On the contrary, they dig deep in to English 90s pop/rock and come up with songs that ring a bell. Tunes that take us back to early pub-years, when we were all keen on forbidden fruits, when our pants fitted well and we went berserk on wild guitars, pathos and premature romance Owen rummages the past to find their musical roots, on which they rely to make their own mature sound. Infectious grooves, with only one goal: to deliver the perfect soundtrack for a joyful night with the lads.
White Lines is the title of their first single. Genuine pop rock one can hear Fergal Sharkey in his Undertones years. A song with a hook that glues itself to your long term memory and will pop up in your head whenever you feel happy. Timeless, melodic, infectious just how we like it.
