Ajahn Sucitto is a pioneer of Western Buddhism. He has participated in the establishment of the first oversees branches in the tradition of Ajahn Chah, Cittaviveka and Amaravati monastery near London in the early 1980ies. Later he was the abbot of Cittaviveka monastery for 22 years, taking on the difficult responsibility to serve as a formal teacher (Ācariya) for numerous newly ordained monks and nuns.
Our whole community of practitioners at Dhammagiri benefited tremendously from the wealth of knowledge and wisdom Tan Ajahn has aquired in almost 40 years as a monk, which he was happy to share with us most generously during his visit.
