Bruce is the director of the Dart Center for Journalism & Trauma at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. After a disaster, the Dart suggests journalists must carefully consider key groups as they do their reporting: the victims, the community and the journalists themselves. On September 11, 2001, he was also a reporter for The Nation.
