On his bachelor party day (29 May 2010), we made Dimitri think he was being filmed for a part role in an upcoming pilot episode of a TV cooking programme called "(Greek) Men Can Cook"...
There is no such TV pilot. We just needed the footage of him for a larger project we were planning.
Parallel to the footage taken of Dimitri that day, we (his friends and his girlfriend) secretly spent a couple of weeks starring and filming in segments which we subsequently edited together with those of Dimitri, to create a spoof episode of another cooking/dating programme called "Love Bites".
We succeeded in keeping Dimitri in the dark about our plans, and the resulting final film was shown during his and his girlfriend's wedding a few weeks later - to Dimitri's surprise, and to our great shared amusement*.
*See how this all started with another film - made by the same group of friends, one year earlier:

Equipment: 70% of this film was shot on Morten's Canon EOS 7D, with Canon EF-S 15-85mm 5-5.6 IS USM lens, with Zacuto Z-Finder PRO2.5x and Zacuto Target Shooter. Most audio recorded with Zoom H4n, with some exceptions where the in-camera mic was used. Most of the segments were edited at home on a Macbook Pro, with the final inclusion of the footage of Dimitri, title graphics and Anna's elimination segment done over a weekend in an Avid studio environment. Those parts of the footage were filmed with the XDCAM and audio equipment seen in the poster-image.
Note: All "Love Bites" motion-graphics have been used with the direct permission of the original series' producers, through our contacts at Prosenghisi Film & Video, Athens Greece.
