The concept: real stories, real people, and real places as part of a symbolic representation of a recovery journey, whether that be addiction, mental health, or trauma. The idea is that the ‘egg’ content symbolises recovery, rebirth and emergence. A fragile vessel, vulnerable and prone to cracking, the egg can also be handled in the right way so that it is strong and can herald new life. The individuals undertaking these journeys will be enacting a version of this narrative of their own recovery. The performance will end with the communal act of arriving together, whilst life beyond continues.
