Five days journey through the Australian outback, exploring the desolated lands of the Mungo National Park, NSW.
Frames of Beauty is a collaboration between Filippo Rivetti (timeflees.com), who works mainly as a timelapse photographer, and Francesco Camillo (francescocamilloph.tumblr.com).
It all started when we were questioning ourself in regard to different ways to approach the contemporary meaning of Beauty through photography. We decided to get together and merge our skills to create something new and different. Something that can help people to see things from another perspective and help us to explore different ways to define the concept of Beauty; from Nature to culture and tradition of the places that we visit, till the role that our models have in the interaction with the surroundings.
This project is not only about fashion and design, it’s a mixture of emotions and feelings that highlights the personal relationship that each model has with the environment that we let them to discover.
The location is the main character of Frames of Beauty. We always try to explore and document places that we never been before because we like to get the opportunity to travel and visit new places. Australia is a very big Country and it has so much to offer from the landscape point of view. Travelling and exploring is something that our project wants to encourage everyone to do.
How we pic the locations? In this particular case we chose Mungo National Park (NSW) for its particular and different landscapes. The region is very vaste and we could find so many hints for our theme which took inspiration from the Burning Man festival with some variations of it. We documented ourself about the place before leaving Sydney but what we found there was much more spectacular than what we thought: golden sand dunes, endless prairies, so many curious local animals and an incredibly dark sky over our heads full of shiny gems that were lighting up our nights.
Have a look at those pictures together with the video that Filippo made. Frames of Beauty wants to develop and innovate the way we look at things. A set of pictures can tell a lot but, if it merged together with a video, it covers all the perspectives of what we really do and want to express to the eyes of who is looking at it. At the moment we are taking expression of interest in Sydney for a series of temporary expositions that want to showcase our work, encourage to explore the places that we visit, motivate everyone to travel more and activate the tourism of remote areas like Mungo National Park.
