46 solo-swimmers and 18 relay teams from all over the world started early on Sunday July 26th 2015 in Rapperswil, Switzerland. Their goal: to reach Zurich within 12 hours by swimming nonstop. At 7am was the start of the solo-swimmers, the teams followed am 7:15am. The weather conditions were excellent: the lake was quiet, the watertemperature 24°C and the weather was sunny and partly cloudy, air temperature 23°C. Only three solo swimmers did not reach the cut-off in Meilen/Küsnacht or had to give up.
The first swimmers who arrived in Zürich were the team "Uusschwümme :)" from the Swim Club Thalwil with Christian Tschudi, Till Mesmer und Nadine Zürcher in 6h 14m 43s. Next to reach the goal was Jason Gill from Glasgow (GB) being the fastest solo swimmer of this year's race with 6h 52m 41s. The fastest solo swimmer among the women was Friderike Wachs (D). She set a new meeting record in the category "Women Masters with wetsuit" in 7h 53min 11s!
