CocoRosie’s Bianca Casady premiered this solo project at Kampnagel, Hamburg. She puts on stage wonderfully spun songs - with a band, dancer and video.

With her sister Sierra and common band CocoRosie Bianca Casady has created a great surreal Pop-Art-World. In addition to worldwide acclaimed albums and concerts CocoRosie have premiered the dance piece "Night Shift - A Feeble Ballet" in 2012 at Kampnagel and have since implemented two theater projects with Robert Wilson. Now - after several solo projects - Bianca Casady once more steps out of the familiar CocoRosie context to gather long time partners (The C.i.A.) for a musical-performance project. Together with dancer Bino Sauitzvy, video artist Jean Marc Ruellan and musicians Lacy Lancaster, Takuya Nakamura and Doug Wieselman she brings new songs to the stage, to be released in autumn also as an album. Casady designs a mysterious and suggestive parallel world starting from an untuned piano, a dusty typewriter and stacks of poems. Her songs are performative gems from a strange music Wonderland, which can now be experienced in a concert performance. After the world premiere at the Summer Festival this show will head to David Byrne's Melt Down Festival and the Pop-Kultur Festival in Berlin’s Berghain among others.

Bianca Casady (CocoRosie) bringt in ihrem neuen Solo-Projekt wunderbar versponnene Songs auf die Bühne – mit Band, Tänzer und Video.

Mit ihrer Schwester Sierra und der gemeinsamen Band CocoRosie hat Bianca Casady eine große surreale Popkunstwelt entworfen. Neben weltweit gefeierten Alben und Konzerten haben CocoRosie 2012 auf Kampnagel das Tanzstück NIGHTSHIFT – A FEEBLE BALLET uraufgeführt und seitdem zwei Theaterprojekte mit Robert Wilson realisiert. Nun tritt Bianca Casady nach mehreren Solo-Projekten erneut aus dem familiären CocoRosie-Kontext heraus und versammelt langjährige Partner (The C.i.A.) für ein Musik-Performance-Projekt. Gemeinsam mit einem Tänzer, einem Videokünstler und drei Musiker*innen bringt sie Songs auf die Bühne, die im Herbst auch als Album veröffentlicht werden. Casady entwirft eine geheimnisvoll-suggestive Parallelwelt aus einem ungestimmten Piano, verstaubten Schreibmaschinen und Stapeln von Gedichten. Ihre Songs sind performative Kleinode aus einem seltsamen Musik-Wunderland, das nun in einer Konzert-Performance zu erleben ist. Nach der Uraufführung beim Sommerfestival wird diese u.a. auf David Byrnes Melt Down Festival und dem Pop-Kultur Festival im Berliner Berghain gezeigt.
