Science and art come together in this, fulldome, 3-D animated fractal experience. Once and Future Cities fills the dome with unique visuals and audio soundscapes, the likes of which have never been experienced.
Once and Future Cities is the creation of Bentley Ousley, artist, computer programmer, composer and musician from Kansas City, who has brought together an international team of “code” artists and fractal designers, to create this 45-minute immersive experience. Over the past decade, Ousley has worked extensively with electronic compositions, one of which earned him the grand prize in the Warner Brothers Pictures’ Inspiring the Future competition. He learned about fractals while researching visuals to pair with his music. Ousley said, “When I discovered fractal art, I became so enthralled with what these artists were doing, I thought it only appropriate that they have a canvas more in keeping with the scale of their ambitions.”
