Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai, sung by Ustad Mehdi Hasan Khan sahib, in 1962 is more than a national song, it is a parting message from one generation to another. The song explains intimate relationship between a citizen and his country and how both are incomplete without each other. The song reminds us of our duties and obligations towards our motherland which most of us, as citizens, have long forgotten. Our purpose to feature a relative more somber version of the song is to remember not only our responsibilities towards Pakistan but also to acknowledge and learn from our martyrs who have laid down their lives for our freedom and rights and stars who have won done us proud around the world. Pakistan Zindabad!
