Before powering up the box, firstly insert a compatible WiFi dongle to either the front or rear USB port on your Blade box, then connect an HDMI cable to both the box and your TV. Then finally, attach the Blade to the power source and your set-top box will begin the boot process as shown on screen.
After a few moments, you will arrive at the “Service Unreachable” screen shown. Once you see this, do not be concerned. This is perfectly normal on the first run when setting up WiFi.
At this point, press the BLUE F4 button on your remote control to start the set-up process.
Once pressed, you should be taken to the System Settings screen shown. If so, use the up, down, left and right arrow keys on your remote to highlight the “Network” option in red and then press OK on your remote to continue.
Now, again use the arrow keys to move down and highlight the Wireless (WiFi) option and press OK on your remote.
On the next configuration screen, ensure the Auto (DHCP) option is selected and again, press the OK button to continue.
On this screen, you need to set the name of your local WiFi network. The quickest way is to use your remote to highlight the Scan button and press OK. This will initiate a scan and the Blade box will display a list of local WiFi networks found, where you can highlight your preferred network in red and then press OK on your remote.
Now, if your chosen WiFi network is password protected, you must enter it on this screen to complete set-up. Use your remote’s arrow keys to highlight the Passphrase box and then press OK.
To enter your passphrase, hit the KB button on your remote to activate the on-screen keyboard and then use the arrow keys to move the highlighter to the correct letters to enter the characters of your password.
Now please remember, if your password uses upper and lower case letters, plus special characters, the password you enter must match it exactly otherwise, your WiFi configuration will fail and you will have to re-enter your password here again.
So please take care and pay special attention to the characters you select to prevent having to repeat this stage again.
Once you have entered your password correctly, press the KB button on your remote to hide the on screen keyboard. And finally, highlight the OK button on screen using your remotes arrow keys and press OK to save your settings.
Great, you’re all done. To exit set-up, simply hit the Exit button on your remote and finally, when you arrive back at the “Service Unreachable” screen, press the RED F1 button on your remote to complete the boot process.
If successful, your Blade will complete the boot process very shortly and you’ll be ready to watch your television service.
And that completes this tutorial.
