Three friends, a '96 Camry and a GPS called Naveen set out to explore nearby-yet-somewhat-unchartered lands. We went from Sydney to Melbourne via the coast, did a loop of the Great Ocean Road, took the Spirit of Tasmania ferry, drove down and around Tassie, sailed back to the mainland and returned to Sydney via the inland.
In that time we were so fortunate to have met many generous people (friends, families and strangers alike), stayed in warm and welcoming homes, passed by a variety of stunning landscapes, ate way too much cake, sang completely off tune, gained a totally punny vocabulary, constantly drove into perfect weather, and generally had the time of our lives.
This is a brief look at our trip. (It's aimed at our family and friends because they'll be waiting awhile for real stories and photos from the journey.)
1. Music is 'Come On! Feel The Illinoise!' by Sufjan Stevens. (Notes on a note: choosing the music took the longest, boo hoo.)
2. Inspired a lot by this video: vimeo.com/2721992. (Notes on another note: we saw LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip last night! Yeah!)
3. So the photos don't quite match the beat but I give up, lah.
4. This epic trip of 2010 began exactly a year after my epic world trip of 2009.
