Retired Forest Service employee Mark Petroni talks about areas where snowmobilers can access the Idaho portion of Mount Jefferson, which is open to motorized use. About 4,500 acres on the Montana side are being considered for wilderness designation as part of Sen. Jon Tester's made-in-Montana Forest Jobs & Recreation Act. The Montana side is the centerpiece of a wild area that's critical to wildlife migration between Yellowstone National Park and the wilds of central Idaho.
