Track these three adventurers, John Mirassou, Marty Burke, and John Bertsch as they navigate their way across America and the globe. These three amigos have been boated a lifetime together and have the tales, as well as the scars, to prove it. The trio has been best friends since grammar school, and if they’re not razzin’ each other, then they’re not having fun.
On this adventure the three would be Scally-wags’ ultimate destination…
Trinidad, Cuba. Their starting point, the port of Miami, Florida then through the Key West before heading to open sea and a treacherous 105 mile voyage to Havana Cuba. From there it’s an 800 mile open water journey around the island exploring various ports such as Cabanas, Santa Lucia, Maria la Gorda, Playa Majana and fourteen other stops along the way to their ultimate destination…Trinidad.
We’ll encounter the extreme nautical hazards faced just to get to the island of Cuba, a two-day trip in volatile waters and ever-defiant weather. They’ll be attempting this passage in a 24’ 1939 Chris Craft designed for leisure – not a thirteen hundred mile, 31 day trip in open waters. Follow these three daring adventurers as they endure the challenges of the open water from Miami to Cuba and explore the landscape and splendor of this almost unbridled country of rich customs, traditions and culture.
