The MV Fairwind is a wreck that we uncovered in 2009 and have made repeated dives to since. It sank in 1950 whilst on return from PNG with the loss of all 17 crew. The shipwreck itself lies off the NSW coast in almost 90m of water.
The wreck site is in excellent condition and much of the wreck is still in tact. She currently sits upright with the distinct king posts towering above the wreck.
The site itself is plague with strong currents making the Fairwind not only a deep dive, but a challenging one also.
