About the Expert
Dr. Ken Daugherty has held various positions in government, industry, and academia.
Dr. Daugherty graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a B.S. in chemistry. He earned a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry (and minored in ceramic engineering) from The University of Washington. Dr. Daugherty also holds a Master of Business Economics degree from Claremont Graduate University.
During his military career, he headed a supertoxic laboratory, with the mission of analyzing worldwide samples of nerve agents, riot control agents, hallucinogenic agents, and toxins. Colonel Daugherty was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and two Army Meritorious Service Medals for his scientific achievements.
In academics, Ken served as an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and Full Professor, Distinguished Research Professor, and Board of Regents Professor at the University of North Texas. During his academic career, he undertook studies of fuels, drugs, well-oil operations, and investigations of organic and inorganic toxicants.
In industry, Ken has served as the Director of Research and Development and on the Board of Directors of various companies.
