I came across this poem and instantly felt the urge to capture it on film. Having grown up around oak trees and the natural world, this poem really speaks to me - and from conversations with the author, it seems the trees really speak to her too.
With the incredibly talented Molly Bourne on board, I sourced and transported a living oak tree around the underground system to make this film. I would like to extend my thanks to London Underground Ltd for their help and cooperation at all turns.
Also, I would like to thank Katherine Gallagher herself for not only agreeing to let us use her poem, but also for agreeing to take part in the final scene. It was a huge pleasure to work with such a wonderful and special woman.
