Fluid New Media Lab will be giving a free workshop on video literacy using cellphone and PDA's on November 2010.
Participant Artist, Fernando Velazquez, will fly from Brasil to NYC and then to Toronto to teach Spanish speaking individuals how to capture clips using their cellphones and/or portable devices, and how to post produce it to a mini clip, as part of the series "Videos de Bolso".
The outcome will be presented as a multimedia installation where the student generated content (from Sao Paolo, NYC, Toronto) is projected in a wall and controlled by other cell phone or portable devices.
The video: Is captured on a Motorola i856 cellphone from a jamming session of a NYC music collective based in Bushwick and Ridgewood. This is a rehearsal from "Criollito Saun Crew" (feat Pedro Erazo, Manuel Bravo, Dan "Puffy" Ramirez, and guest drummer Gabriel Vasconez) A diverse collection of electronic audio devices are connected to create digital sounds for a Dub-Jungle-Reggae performances.
