Following Company SJ’s successful tour to The Barbican, London in June 2015 with Beckett in the City: Rough For Theatre I and Act without Words II, and after last year’s success of the Irish premiere of Fizzles by Samuel Beckett, Company SJ continues it's Beckett in the City series with Beckett in the City: The Women Speak: Not I Footfalls, Rockaby and Come and Go for Tiger Dublin Fringe 2015.
For all who love Samuel Beckett’s writing, art and performance, take a journey into the heart of Dublin for a very unique experience celebrating twenty-one years of Fringe in true Beckettian style.
Using the aesthetic tools of the body, sound, site, history, movement, architecture and projection, Company SJ platforms the deeply scarred voices of Beckett’s women and re-situates them in relation to the city and famous Dublin institutions of Ireland’s past. Not I Footfalls, Rockaby and Come and Go, feature women whose connection between body and voice has been ruptured. They are prisoners inside their heads, incapable of engaging with outside society. Their trauma has rendered them as sculptural images emanating from the dark.
This production will delight and move audiences while provoking thoughts of a "life not lived".
