Malmesbury, in Wiltshire, celebrated the 1000th anniversary of Eilmer of Malmesbury's first manned flight (google it - amazing story) by hosting a kite festival.
I took the opportunity to test the Zacuto Tactical Shooter rig with my Canon 550D with a Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 G lens, before taking it on a tricky event shoot.
This film is 100% hand-held without the use of any image stabilisation. Just like a news shoot, there's no chance to do a second take, the action is unpredictable, your money shot turns out disappointing, and the best bits for the edit are made up of a ten minute window of a day's shoot.
But the displays were spectacular, and yes - I have bought a kite, and yes, it will take a camera.
