Children learn from the peers and role models who surround them. At Camps Kenwood and Evergreen, we facilitate this learning in safe and healthy ways. Peer groups are supervised by supportive adult role models who encourage positive values such as sportsmanship, collaboration, responsibility, and kindness. On the first day, campers work with their two cabin counselors and fellow “bunk-mates” to create a mutually agreed upon list of rules and regulations to encourage positive behavior. By living in a group environment, our campers are taught how to cooperate, be considerate, and co-exist in harmony. Our caring and supportive counselors become people your child will go to for encouragement, guidance, and – most importantly – friendship.
