Both an air operated and electric driven flash dryers are shown for comparison. Both include a timer switch so you can select how long the flash will be over the platen. Step on a foot pedal, and the heater rotates over the platen. After the selected number of seconds, the heater automatically returns to the starting position. A flash is normally 6-8 seconds. Curing longer can leaded to inks not bonding in the conveyor and flaking off. Also, excessive flashing that can damage platens is avoided.
