tasks is a site-relative performance that combines acoustic sound, movement, and visual elements.
Working with materials, objects, and their bodies, a group of performers, of various disciplines, execute a series of actions, phrases, and scores.
Focusing on their relationship to each other, as well as the physical and sonic characteristics of the performance space, the performers rotate between the objectives of movement-based tasks and task-based movements.
Ranging from solo to group, some tasks reference the qualities of a pendulum, focusing on momentum and gravity, while others address the parameters of height – width – depth, proximity – distance, expansion – contraction, and silence – stillness. Without narrative, they leave the audience time to assess the actions and interpret or propose her/his own meaning, content and thoughts.
