It's a heartbreaking and sobering reminder of the consequences of drinking and driving. Now, a family is without their father because someone decided to get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.
This Labor Day weekend, a 57-year old man was killed after getting struck by a suspected DUI driver while trying to cross Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach. Sheriff's Deputies who were on duty at a nearby DUI checkpoint quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect.
