After shooting a werewolf cub, five estranged friends must defend themselves from a family of marauding werewolves in a remote hunting cabin.
Dan Loman and his thirteen year old son Adam were expecting a peaceful weekend camping retreat in the peaceful North Eastern wilderness. Dan’s brother Stuart, and childhood friend Teddy had another plan for the trip- to get Dan to reconcile with his old business partner Cole, and to snag a few deer while they are up there.
Dan and Cole have a complicated relationship, regarding both business and personal. Dan would rather not have his son Adam in on most of it, some of it being shameful. It’s in Cole’s best interest, as well as Stuart and Teddy, that they get a document signed by Dan in order to settle up on a large sum of money. This all reveals itself and boils over the night before the hunt.
Hung over and clumsy, the men accidentally shoot what they think is a bear cub. Still alive, they decide to bring it back to the cabin save it and save themselves a hefty fine. When they investigate the beast, they realize that it is not a bear at all- it is a wolf cub disguised in a bear’s skin. Not just any wolf cub. This one has too many human features to be a wolf.
While trying to get the bullet out, the men begin to hear howling from outside the cabin. The family has come for their baby…
The struggle begins, and so do the arguments on how to escape. Adam is bit by the infant werewolf cub and begins a horrific transformation right before the men’s eyes. Now, with monstrous supernatural threats from outside- and inside the cabin, the men must try to set aside their differences and survive what will be a bloody battle fought tooth and nail, arrow and bullet, silver and bone!
With HUNTER’S MOON, it is our intention to bring to the screen an action horror film reminiscent of classic survival adventures such as JAWS, AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, PREDATOR, and THE THING. Great effort has been put into the screenplay and characters to bring them to the forefront of the drama that thrillingly unfolds. This is a character based thriller, the supernatural elements being almost secondary.
That’s not to say that we don’t have thrilling creatures and grisly action for the genre fans. Things get messy when you have to fend off a pack of bloodthirsty creatures that could tear a man in half with a single swipe. But we believe that the best chance you have at true suspense, thrilling drama, and compassion for your characters, is with great writing, performances, and story development.
With proper funding, we will seek out to book the best name talent we possibly can. Written by Sean Q. King, Lee Kolinsky, Russ Camarda, and John Kilgour, based on a story from Director Sean Q. King, the script was written and refined for a period of over three years. The short proof of concept film that was produced in 2015 is a great tone poem to display what we are going for- pure drama, thrills, chills and suspense!
Director Sean Q. King has been active in many aspects of film production. He is known for his cinematography work on the award winning films "The Night Never Sleeps"(2012), “Send No Flowers”(2013), and "Cigarette Soup”(2014), as well as producing and directing the cult hits “This Mortal Coil”(2010), “Lost Suburbia”(2007), and "The Ghouligans!"(2013).
