I was going to to test out how effective the new volume visualisation tools in Houdini 11 were for actually getting a reasonable idea of the rendered output. But I ran into a bunch of opengl bugs so i ended up just rendering it out.
I actually turned off the smoke for this but left the scattering on, which ended up giving the appearance of fine smoke. Normally I would consider this a undesirable, but I like the look. The quantisation of the video kinda kills the detail though.
