Facing North examines the complex relationship between the neighboring cities of San Diego and Tijuana. In some ways, the two cities create a single region encompassing one of the largest border areas in the world. In many other ways, however, they are harshly divided communities in spite of their close proximity.
Through multiple interviews with people living in the San Diego-Tijuana border region, the film explores these dynamics, as well as asking what it means to be a part of a border community.
