Jin & Motion: Part 01
A LPP (Live Projection.Painting.Performance) created by Estabrak Al-Ansari, Visual Artist & Film Maker.
Muscat, Oman 2015
Jin & Motion is a 03 part series merging together live painting, performance and film making. LPP is a unique approach to story telling, one in which was created by my all female, London based collaborative called 'Thre3 Strokes'. I am now working on my own solo series of LPP performances internationally.
Topics explored within this 03 part series are mythology, Djinn, mortality and subjects surrounding power, culture, women and feminism. This series of work examines, through visual experimentation, the notion of existing in dynamics and places you cannot exist in. Reality vs Mythology.. This world and the hereafter.
LPP is unique and immersive form of storytelling that involves film, live painting & live performance.
It is a film revealed through projection, performance & paint and received through the stimulation of your senses.
Reality, space&time are questioned via the physical layering of images.. Often causing the viewer to rethink their own understanding.
Concepts of touch, loss&memory erupt a non verbal dialogue between artist & canvas, canvas & space, space & audience, audience & time, time & reality.. Reality & illusion..
LPP is a process completely developed by myself and my all female London based collaborative; Thre3 Strokes.. There is no one out there doing what we are doing. It is a process created in order to tell the story of trying to understand and 'touch' something that can never be caught. LPP began almost 4years ago when we, Thre3 Strokes, tried to express the 'want' we personally held trying to communicate with our deceased parents.
Currently I am working on my own solo series of LPPs internationally.
