Peter Carpenter, Redding Smokejumper from 1959 through 1961, discusses some of the work he is doing with the Menlo Park Fire Protection District as an elected director, to provide information and training for municipal firefighters on the dynamics of wildland firefighting. He also talks about some of the successes in utilizing municipal firefighters in the wildland fire environment. In addition, Peter gives his thoughts on the use of drones to support quality mapping on incidents and more.
