This is a video looking at the denoising capabilities of Neat Video (https://www.neatvideo.com/). So far I'm really impressed. It leaves details, works worlds better than AE's native de-noiser which is slow and smudgy. Keep in mind that any "smoothness" that looks like the denoiser blurred to hell is actually the lack of real detail from the render, as it was mostly a quick test or draft.
Typically the major problem with Octane Render is that while it produces beautiful images, the amount of time to render clean, production-quality animations is very high. This plugin will save me many hundreds of rendering hours (which is actual money considering electricity costs!).
The original video is one I made to test out how difficult it might be to produce VR content scenes. I've taken a hiatus from that project for now, but I'll come back to it.
