This was my first 100 mile mountain bike race. The race is the 5th stop on the National Endurance Series. It is 101 miles long and has 11,400' of climbing. Completing a 100 mile race 1 year prior to this event seemed like a ridiculous idea and a goal that was not attainable. I only started riding 2 years ago and racing short courses 1 year ago. This all started 5 years ago in an effort to lose weight and be healthy. I am 40lbs lighter and in the best shape of my life! For those of you thinking of doing the race and want to know what it is like, I did not capture any of the hardest parts of the course, sorry! I was too preoccupied to reach up and hit record. lol.
