Mobilising the Industry
Recent events highlight the need to mobilise our industry and improve our advocacy for the arts. What tools and skills do we require to be successful? What can we learn from campaigns in other industries?

Originally from a farming family in Western Australia, David worked in sheep and grain agriculture before studying geology in Perth. From 1995 to 1999, David was a mine and exploration geologist in Western Australia. David then worked until 2004 for the Hon Wilson Tuckey MP, a minister in the Howard Federal Government.
From 2004 to 2008 David lived in Sydney, managing the business interests of Peter Holmes à Court, including investments in private equity, property, film entertainment and sport. David and was company secretary of Peter’s business partnership with Russell Crowe and held a leading role in the purchase of the South Sydney Rabbitohs National Rugby League football club.
David returned to Perth in 2008 to study a Master of Business Administration and whilst studying worked as media advisor to Federal Shadow Minister Michael Keenan MP and Senator Judith Adams. In 2010, David started his career with GM Holden as Government Relations and Public Policy Advisor.
David holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from Curtin University and a MBA from the University of Western Australia.
