This talk took place on June 12, 2015 at The Cooper Union's Great Hall as part of Typographics.
In recent years operating systems software has seen an increase in typographic sophistication. Marty will discuss the evolution of typography in the Windows operating system, and outline several methods he has developed for making typographic decisions over the ten-plus years he’s been a member of the Windows design team.
Marty Hall is a designer living in Seattle, Ballard to be more specific. He works on the Windows Design team at Microsoft focused on the UX design of Internet Explorer and Project Spartan. One of the benefits of his job is getting to work closely with expert researchers, typographers, and motion designers. Marty was the President for AIGA Seattle from 2004–2006.
