Former Ambassador to Morocco, Japan
Amb. Haruko Hirose, former Ambassador to Morocco, finished her graduate study at Stanford University in Operations Research with a Master's degree (1979-1980). Thereafter, she served as Chief Economist at the Economic Research Institute of the Economic Planning Agency (1982-1985). She was a professor at the Public Administration Institute of the National Personnel Authority (1985-1987). She worked overseas as a Director, Bureau of Personnel at UNESCO HQ in Paris (1992-2003), Deputy Director-General and Managing Director of Coordination and Field Operations, UNIDO (2002-2006), and Ambassador to Morocco (2006-2010). Currently, she works as a professor at the Academy for Global Leadership at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
