The consolidation trend continues to be impacted by the financial pressures that seek to reduce waste and reward value, instead of volume. Ultimately, the goal is to decrease unnecessary overlap in regional healthcare offerings and consolidated clinical practices, in order to provide more efficient care delivery. This in turn will lead to increased economies of scale with fewer buyers who will capture larger sets of patients to decrease their risk and demand better pricing.
This consolidation in healthcare has changed the paradigm and now many suppliers find themselves negotiating with larger entities who are exercising their new economic clout forcing increased margin pressures. These panelists will discuss the fundamental changes happening within the healthcare supply chain, limiting access and reducing vendor opportunity with these larger entities.
In this panel, hear from leading health system supply chain executives as they discuss the altered supplier/provider role, analyze future trends, and provide tips and strategies for navigating consolidation and mergers. Their perspectives will also capture local, regional as well as national differences in strategy.
1. Define the altered supplier/provider role.
2. Analyze potential future trends of consolidation.
3. Identify strategies for navigating consolidation and outsourcing trends.
